(Miami-Dade County, FL) -- Patrons of two local senior centers will receive a slew of goodies on Thursday, February 23, 2012 as part of Commissioner Jose “Pepe” Diaz’s “14 Days of Neighborly Love” initiative. Commissioner Diaz will be personally delivering books, magazines, and freshly-baked goods to both the Mildred & Claude Pepper Senior Center and Victor Wilde Community Center. The reading materials are courtesy of Editorial Unilit and Expolit ’12; the baked goods are being donated by the Dunn Family.
The “14 Days of Neighborly Love – Inspiring Random Acts of Kindness” initiative, motivated in part by Valentine’s Day, involves businesses and organizations donating their time and services from February 14 to February 27 to residents as a way of showing love for their neighbors and community. Until February 27, residents can take advantage of several services and goods offered at a discount or for free, such as tax preparation, marriage counseling, car washes, and more.
