Commissioner Jose “Pepe” Diaz to host cook-out for local veterans


(Miami-Dade County, FL) -- 
Commissioner Jose “Pepe” Diaz is making good on a promise to veterans on Thursday, March 29, 2012. During the commissioner’s “14 Days of Neighborly Love” initiative last month, he helped present a new barbecue grill to the Miami VA Living Facility. After the presentation, Commissioner Diaz, Miami-Dade’s military liaison, promised to return and give the veterans a free barbecue. On March 29, Commissioner Diaz will be hosting a cook-out for more than 100 veterans who live in the center.  Junior’s Catering of Miami will be donating hamburgers, hotdogs, snacks, and refreshments, as well as helping the commissioner out on the grill.  The cook-out will take place at 1201 NW 16 Street, from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. For more information, please contact Commissioner Diaz’s office at 305-599-1200.
