Commissioner Jose "Pepe" Diaz organizes events in District 12 for National Day of Prayer


(Miami-Dade County, FL) -- 
May 3rd is recognized as the country’s National Day of Prayer. This year, Commissioner Jose “Pepe” Diaz has organized several events throughout his district where residents can participate in worship ceremonies.

The National Day of Prayer was designated by Congress in 1952 to fall on the first Thursday of every May. Media are invited to the following special events being held in various municipalities from District 12: 

City of Doral – 8 a.m.

Closing Ceremony at Expolit ’12

During Expolit '12 at 10:30PM-midnight, all religious leaders, elected officials and residents are invited to attend the closing concert where four international artists will be performing. Representatives from sectors of government, military, media, business, education, religion, and community will be coming on stage to pray.

Each commemorative ceremony should last approximately 30 to 45 minutes. Local pastors are participating in each municipality to lead officials and residents in praying for the community.
