Active duty military and veterans invited to FREE "Military Appreciation Day" at Countyline Dragway

Free entry, food, and racing available to military and families, organized by Commissioner Jose "Pepe" Diaz


(Miami-Dade County, FL) -- 
Commissioner Jose "Pepe" Diaz is inviting all active and veteran military personnel to celebrate “Military Appreciation Day” on Saturday, June 30, 2012 at Countyline Dragway, 19999 Okeechobee Road. Military members and their families* can enjoy free entry from 5:30 p.m. to midnight.

Military residents can race for free all evening and enjoy free food until 7:30 p.m. Non-military residents can also attend, but must pay standard entry, food, and racing fees.

"Our service men and women sacrifice so much in order to protect our nation. This event is to honor their commitment to preserving freedom at home and abroad," said Commissioner Diaz, who served in the U.S. Marines and is also the County's military liaison.

Countyline Dragway is a 1/8th mile IHRA sanctioned track built to deter illegal street racing and promote racing in a safer track environment. This event is sponsored by Countyline Dragway’s owner, Anthony Muñoz, and Prologis.
