On Thursday, February 21st, 2013 Commissioner Diaz will continue to spread the love through his “14 Days of Neighborly Love- Inspiring Random Acts of Kindness” initiative as he joins the SE Regional Representative for the Secretary of Labor and the Miami District OFCCP in co-hosting a Veteran’s Job Fair. The event will take place at Miami-Dade College- Kendall Campus, Academic Support Center, Building R-4th Floor-Conference room 402, 11011 SW 104 Street, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The fair is intended to assist Veterans with networking and other valuable resources, who are seeking employment. Candidates of all ages, experience levels, and industries are encouraged to attend. Participants are asked to come dressed in professional attire and have their resumes handy. The companies in attendance are looking to fill both full-time and part-time positions. Job seekers can even bring a USB for help with their resumes and Miami Dade College will be holding open labs for those who do not have a computer at home.
Commissioner Diaz will be speaking at this event and distributing Publix gift cards to Veteran’s while supplies last.
“In a difficult economy, many Veterans are having a hard time finding employment. I would strongly encourage any Veteran seeking employment to take advantage of this opportunity,” said Commissioner Diaz
This initiative involves businesses and organizations donating their time, services and monetary contributions from February 14 to February 27 to residents as a way of showing love for their neighbors and community.
