"14 Days of Neighborly Love" initiative ends with gas at $2.27 per gallon at Finish Line Gas Station |

With the price of gas soaring over $4 per gallon, drivers may experience a little sticker shock - in a good way – when for a limited time, gas will be at $2.27 a gallon for drivers at Finish Line gas station, 10900 West Flagler Street on Wednesday, February 27, 2013, starting at 10 a.m. For a limited time, the station’s owner will drop the price on unleaded gas significantly, to $2.27 a gallon, capped at $20, to mark the last day of the initiative. Commissioner Diaz and elected officials will be on hand to perform their random act of kindness by pumping the gas for the motorists. Commissioner Diaz’s “14 Days of Neighborly Love - Inspiring Random Acts of Kindness” initiative, motivated in part by Valentine’s Day, involved businesses and organizations donating their time and services from February 14 to February 27 to residents as a way of showing love for their neighbors and community. Until February 27, residents were invited to take advantage of several services and goods offered at a discount or for free, such as blue bell ice cream giveaway, immigration and student counseling, karate classes, SunPasses, and more. Commissioner Diaz partnered with Finish Line during the kick-off on February 14 when the station temporarily dropped the price to $2.14 a gallon. Motorists were pleasantly surprised, commenting that in difficult financial times, it was great to receive a kind gesture. This second price drop on February 27 was made possible by sponsorships from Anthony Cuevas, Finish Line station owner, Roly Ramirez, owner of Doral Collision Center, and Exclusive Motoring.
