Commissioner Diaz to welcome Costa Rican trade delegation

(MIAMI-DADE COUNTY) – Miami-Dade County Commissioner Jose “Pepe” Diaz, who serves as the Chairman of the International Trade Consortium Board, will welcome a Costa Rican trade delegation to Miami-Dade County on Tuesday, March 11, 2014 at 8:30 a.m. at the Miami Free Zone, 2305 N.W. 107th Avenue, Room 2M8-10, in Doral.

The delegation will be on a two-day buying mission – which is a direct result of a business development mission to Costa Rica led by Commissioner Diaz in 2013 – and will include the Executive Director of CRECEX (Cámara de Comercio Exterior de Costa Rica) and Costa Rican companies which will engage in pre-screened business-to-business matchmaking meetings with Miami-Dade companies in select business sectors. Also in attendance will be the Consul General of Costa Rica.

“I’m looking forward to hosting this distinguished delegation on this important trade mission, which will strengthen our ties with Costa Rica and boost Miami-Dade’s standing as an international trade hub and gateway for Latin American commerce with the United States,” Commissioner Diaz said.

Costa Rica is currently Miami-Dade’s third-largest trading partner, with a total annual trade volume of more than $7.8 billion.
