Commissioner Diaz to help host second annual Support Our Police Rally and motorcycle ride


MIAMI – Miami-Dade County Commissioner Jose “Pepe” Diaz, a motorcycle rider and police supporter, will join the Dade County Police Benevolent Association (PBA) and Cartel-Baggers Motorcycles to host the second annual Support Our Police Rally and motorcycle ride in support of law enforcement on Sunday, Feb. 21 at 1:30 p.m.

The ride route starts at the Dade County PBA, 10680 PBA Memorial Boulevard (NW 25th Street) in Doral, and ends at the Miami-Dade County Law Enforcement Memorial in Tropical Park, 7900 SW 40th St. in Miami. Non-riders should meet at the park at 1:30 p.m. and bring blankets and chairs to sit comfortably. A memorial for fallen police officers will be held at the park at 3 p.m. The Miami-Dade Police Department Aviation Unit will perform a fly-over at the end of the ceremony, and the Miami-Dade Fire Department will have its giant ceremonial flag on display.

The event also will feature food trucks and entertainment, with music provided by Mix Pro DJs and George Perez.

Proceeds from the event will benefit the PBA Love Fund, a 501 (c) (3) charity that assists officers and their families during times of need. Donations are fully tax-deductible.

Registration is $20 per rider and includes a T-shirt. Registration is taking place at the Dade County PBA, 10680 PBA Memorial Boulevard, 3rd Floor, in Doral.  Same-day registration begins at 11 a.m. on Feb. 21.
