Commissioner Diaz to help collect toys for Radio Lollipop and Toys for Tots

MIAMI-DADE COUNTY – Miami-Dade County Commissioner Jose “Pepe” Diaz will team up with DJ Laz for the annual Radio Lollipop and Toys for Tots campaign to collect Christmas toys for children in the community.

The event will take place on Sunday, December 17 from noon to 5 p.m. at Tropical Park, 7900 SW 40th St. Event goers should bring an unwrapped toy or $10. This year, Radio Lollipop and Toys for Tots are requesting gifts for teenagers, such as gift cards, footballs or decks of cards. The toys collected will benefit children at Radio Lollipop at Nicklaus Children’s Hospital and the Toys for Tots campaign for less fortunate children in the community.

The entire family will enjoy a fun-filled day featuring a motorcycle and car show, slingshot show, music, food vendors, and plenty of activities for kids.

Toys for Tots is a national project of the United States Marine Corps Reserve which began in 1947 in Los Angeles.
