Commissioner Jose "Pepe" Diaz organizes public meetings on Jackson Hospital Governance Task Force recommendations

(Miami-Dade County, FL) -- 
Miami-Dade residents are invited to voice their opinions on recommendations made by the Hospital Governance Task Force to manage the County's major public hospital, Jackson Health System.  The Hospital Governance Task Force was created by the Board of County Commissioners to study and present recommendations on the governance structure of Jackson.  A series of public meetings will be held throughout Miami-Dade County in which residents can learn more about the recommendations and state their opinions on the future management of Jackson Memorial Hospital. The current recommendations made by the Task Force touch on a number of topics, including the structure of Jackson's Board of Directors, ethics standards, legal structure and governance, and responsibilities to be held by both the Miami-Dade County Commission and the Jackson Health System Governing Board.

The meetings were coordinated by Commissioner Jose "Pepe" Diaz, who chairs the County's Public Safety & Healthcare Administration Committee. All county commissioners were invited to submit dates, times, and locations for meetings within their respective districts.
