(Miami-Dade County, FL) -- On December 16th, Commissioner Diaz, dressed as Santa brought some holiday cheer to the children at the Miami Children's Hospital's Hematology-Oncology Center that are undergoing treatment for cancer and were unable to attend their annual holiday party at the Miami Seaquarium.
During his visit, the children were able to take pictures with Santa Claus and received toys, stuffed animals and gift cards.
This annual event takes place in collaboration with Miami Pediatric Hematology Oncology Associates, volunteers and sponsors.
“Every year, I bring some holiday cheer to the children that cannot spend the holidays at home with their families”. said Commissioner Diaz. “I am glad to participate in this event and bring the children smiles and some joy”.
