Commissioner Diaz proposes expanding Patriot Passport to disabled veterans
(MIAMI-DADE COUNTY) – Miami-Dade County Commissioner Jose “Pepe” Diaz is sponsoring a resolution to expand the Patriot Passport program to veterans receiving disability benefits.
The resolution will be considered at the Wednesday, Nov. 5 County Commission meeting. The meeting begins at 9:30 a.m. in the Commission Chambers on the second floor of the Stephen P. Clark Center, 111 N.W. 1st Street.
Created in 2004, the Patriot Passport provides free transportation on Miami-Dade County’s transit system to low-income honorably discharged veterans.
“Expanding the Patriot Passport to disabled veterans will further demonstrate the County’s commitment to honoring our veterans and their service as we prepare to commemorate Veterans Day,” Commissioner Diaz said.
