Patriot Passport expanded to disabled veterans
(MIAMI-DADE COUNTY) – The Miami-Dade County Commission on November 5th adopted a resolution sponsored by County Commissioner Jose “Pepe” Diaz to expand the Patriot Passport program to veterans receiving disability benefits.
Created in 2004, the Patriot Passport has provided free transportation on Miami-Dade County’s transit system to low-income honorably discharged veterans. The expanded program will now extend to disabled veterans regardless of income.
“Extending the benefits of the Patriot Passport to our community’s disabled veterans on the eve of Veterans Day confirms that the County honors their tremendous sacrifices on behalf of this nation,” Commissioner Diaz said.
