(MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, FL) – Scores of local veterans learned about a variety of resources available to them at a veterans outreach event at Florida International University on Dec. 12. Presented by County Commissioners José “Pepe” Díaz and Esteban Bovo Jr., Lieutenant Governor Carlos Lopez-Cantera and State Representative Michael Bileca, the event brought together more than 70 federal, state and local agencies to provide assistance with housing, education, financial, legal and other services.

“I’m pleased we were able to get so many veterans connected with information they can use to improve their lives, because our veterans are our national treasure,” said Commissioner Diaz, who serves as Chairman of the Miami-Dade Military Affairs Board.
