Alligator and wildlife warning signs coming to County parks
MIAMI-DADE COUNTY – Signs may soon be going up in Miami-Dade County parks warning visitors to beware of the alligators.
The Miami-Dade County Commission on Nov. 1 approved legislation sponsored by County Commissioner Jose “Pepe” Diaz to install signs in County parks alerting visitors of the possible presence of dangerous wildlife and warning them to keep their distance from park lakes and canals that could be harboring alligators.
The legislation was prompted by the recent tragic death of a child by an alligator at a lake in Disney World.
“This is about ensuring the safety of our residents and tourists who visit our parks,” Commissioner Diaz said.
