Commissioner Diaz sponsors resolution to promote local hiring by target industries

MIAMI-DADE COUNTY – Miami-Dade County Commissioner Jose “Pepe” Diaz is sponsoring a resolution to require that Miami-Dade County residents make up at least 20 percent of new employees hired by new “target industries” that receive tax refunds from Miami-Dade County to bring jobs to the county under the Qualified Target Industry Tax Refund Program.

The resolution is scheduled for consideration at the Dec. 6 Board of County Commissioners meeting.

“This will ensure that Miami-Dade residents get hired by these new target industry businesses that receive tax incentives from the County to locate or expand here,” Commissioner Diaz said.
