Commissioner Diaz seeks public-private partnerships to address County’s infrastructure

MIAMI-DADE COUNTY – The Miami-Dade County Commission on Dec. 5 gave final approval to an ordinance sponsored by Commissioner Jose “Pepe” Diaz to allow private companies to partner with the County to help fund, design and construct the County's infrastructure and facility for the betterment of Miami-Dade and its residents.

The legislation streamlines the approval process for public-private partnerships for mass transit facilities, roads, bridges, airports and seaport, fuel supply facilities, medical and nursing care facilities, recreational facilities, court facilities, sporting facilities, and water and wastewater facilities.

“Working together with the private sector will help meet our infrastructure needs more efficiently and cost-effectively,” Commissioner Diaz said.
