Miami-Dade County Commissioner Natacha Seijas to welcome Brazilian Delegation

(Miami-Dade County, FL) --
Miami-Dade County Commissioner Natacha Seijas, Chair of the Jay Malina International Trade Consortium (ITC), will welcome an inbound delegation from the State of Minas Gerais, Brazil, Tuesday, November 3, 2009.  The Honorable Sergio Barroso, State Secretary for Economic Development for the State of Minas Gerais, will lead the delegation made up of high-level government officials and private sector representatives from November 3rd-6th.

This mission is a direct result of an invitation extended by Commissioner Seijas during the ITC's mission to Brazil in September 2009.  The ITC has arranged for several key activities during this important visit including, meetings with local chambers of commerce and economic development agencies such as, the Beacon Council, the Brazilian-American Chamber of Commerce of Florida, the Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce, and others.  The ITC has also coordinated meetings with the Port of Miami and Miami International Airport, as well as a tour of the Port facilities.

Commissioner Seijas will present Secretary Barroso and his delegation to Chairman Dennis Moss and other members of the Board of County Commissioners during the Commission meeting on Tuesday, November 3rd.  The delegation will also attend the Air and Sea Cargo Americas International Congress & Exhibition being held at the Double Tree Miami Mart Hotel & Convention Center.

Brazil is Miami-Dade County's #1 trading partner, with total trade in 2008 of over $13 billion.  "I look forward to receiving Secretary Barroso and his delegation, and I feel confident that their visit will result in further strengthening our relations with the State of Minas Gerais and Brazil, our most important trading partner in the world," said Commissioner Seijas.
