Staff at the North Point YMCA, located at 6881 NW 179th Street, were thrilled to receive a $2,000 check from Commissioner Esteban Bovo, Jr. to support the organization’s Youth Activity Center Summer Day Camp. Commissioner Bovo presented the funding to staff on Monday, April 30, 2012 during a small ceremony. The funds for this camp have been allocated from the Sony Ericsson Ticket Revenue Distribution.

The summer day camp provides swimming, weekly field trips, sports, games, dance, and other activities.  The donated money will assist children who cannot afford registration fees.

“The North Pointe YMCA continues to provide worthwhile activities at Country Club South of Miami for children so they can be happy, healthy, and productive,” said Commissioner Bovo. “This donation will help several children take advantage of the great opportunities the YMCA offers so they’re active during summer break.”
