(Miami-Dade County, FL) --
On Monday, May 21, 2012, Commissioner Esteban Bovo, Jr. presented a check for over $4,000 to City of Hialeah officials for the Goodlet Park Theater. A special presentation took place at the theater at 4200 West 8th Avenue.
The funding will be used for the theater’s Cultural Arts Program, which offers a wide array of classes, specialized troupes and productions throughout the year. Cultural Arts classes are open to children 6 to 17 years of age. Kids can explore ballet, flamenco, jazz, modern dance, hip hop, tap, salsa, belly dancing, drama, voice, musical theatre, piano, photography, and modeling.
The funding Commissioner Bovo gave to the City of Hialeah will specifically be used to help support fees for children to take classes, and ensure the program has sufficient monies to continue classes over the summer.
“As a parent, I value programs like Hialeah’s Cultural Arts Program for giving kids a positive and creative outlet during the summer break. It keeps them active and thinking while they’re away from school,” said Commissioner Bovo.
