(Miami-Dade County, FL) --
Today we remember the 52nd anniversary of the Bay of Pigs Invasion, where Cuban-Americans fought for their homeland in an attempt to overthrow the oppressive communist regime. As we give thanks for the heroes who fought for a free Cuba, let us remember those Brigade members who did not return from the invasion. While we commemorate the anniversary of the Bay of Pigs Invasion, let us remember the blessings of liberty in the United States and the sacrifice our soldiers have made to ensure our freedom.
On April 17th there will be an event commemorating the Brigade 2506 at the Bay of Pigs Remembrance Memorial, located at the corner of 8th Street and 13th Avenue in Little Havana, Miami. The reunion will begin at 5:00 p.m. and conclude with a mass at 7:00 p.m.
