County Commissioner Esteban Bovo Jr. will partner with State Sen. Rene Garcia’s office to sponsor a Movie Night, featuring the animated film “Despicable Me,” as part of the City of Hialeah’s 7th Annual Tobacco Prevention Summit on Friday, Nov. 1 at Goodlet Park, 4200 West 8th Avenue in Hialeah.
The summit begins at 5:30 p.m., with the movie starting at 8:15 p.m. It will be the first time a movie will be shown as part of the anti-tobacco annual event. Admission and parking are free.
Presented by the City of Hialeah, the Florida Department of Health, and Tobacco Free Florida, the summit will feature a kid zone, SWAT demonstration, live entertainment, representatives from local universities, and nationally recognized keynote speaker Brandon Carmichael, who has dedicated his life to battling tobacco addiction. The Miami Dolphins will present “Football Fiesta,” El Ingenio Teatro will perform “Cats 'N Boots,” and the Goodlet Theater Elite Fashion Models will encourage children to “Say No, Never, Ever to Tobacco."
