Miami-Dade County Commissioner Esteban Bovo, Jr. is partnering with Farm Share, State Sen. Rene Garcia, and State Reps. Frank Artiles, Manny Diaz Jr., Eddy Gonzales and Jose Oliva, to present a free food distribution event on Saturday, November 23rd from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Amelia Earhart Park, 401 E. 65th Street in Hialeah. The food distribution will take place in Shelters 7, 8 and 9.
Food will be distributed on a first come, first served basis to the first 1,000 families who arrive to receive food either by car (drive-by) or walk-in.
There are no requirements to participate in the food distribution, but attendees who come by car must bring an event flyer for free park admission. Flyers are available at www.miamidade.gov/district13 and can also be obtained by email or in person from Commissioner Bovo’s office by calling 305-820-8424. Anyone driving in without a flyer must pay $6 admission per vehicle to enter the park. Walk-ins are free without a flyer.
“This food distribution will allow hundreds of families in our community to enjoy a happy and nutritious Thanksgiving this year,” Commissioner Bovo said. “I applaud Farm Share and all our partners for their efforts to make sure residents have a joyful holiday season with their families and friends.”
