Garbage Service

Miami-Dade County will observe Independence Day on Friday, July 3.  Curbside garbage and trash Collection service will not take place on Friday, July 3. 

Customers are reminded of the following:

• Tuesday/Friday customers should not place their waste at the curbside on Friday, July 3rd.  
• Please place your waste at the curb by 7 a.m. on your next regular garbage collection day, Tuesday, July 7. 
• Because of the volume of waste anticipated to be picked up following the holiday, waste may be collected later than what residents are accustomed to.  Please be patient.  All waste will be collected by our crews.

Curbside Recycling Service

• Curbside recycling will take place as scheduled on Friday, July 3 for Friday "A" customers.  Please be sure to place your recycling cart curbside by 7 a.m.

Neighborhood Trash & Recycling Centers and Home Chemical Collection Centers

• The Department's 13 Neighborhood Trash & Recycling Centers and Home Chemical Collection drop-off sites will observe normal hours of operation on Friday, July 3.  However, these facilities will be  closed on Saturday, July 4.

Commercial Disposal Facilities
The following disposal facilities will be closed on Saturday, July 4 in observance of Independence Day:

• Central Transfer Station
• Northeast Transfer Station
• West Transfer Station
• North Dade Landfill
• South Dade Landfill
  

Disposal customers can deliver waste to the Resources Recovery Facility on Saturday, July 4.  The facility will observe normal hours of operation – 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.
