Miami-Dade Department of Solid Waste Management permits are required for any person / business engaged in the following activities:

• General Hauler - Persons in the business of solid waste collection, removal or transport for hire or salvage, or any person engaged in the business of recyclable materials collection, removal or transport for hire. 
• Landscaper - Persons engaged in the business of creating or maintaining landscaped areas, including tree trimming and tree removal, that desire to use the department's Trash & Recycling Centers or obtain discounted disposal rates at the the department landfills. 
• Waste Tire Hauler / Generator - Either principally or partially engaged in the selling, trading or otherwise transferring of new, used or waste tires within Miami-Dade County, whether such transactions are for cash, barter or without consideration.
