The Department of Solid Waste will provide the following options to service area residents for collection and recycling or disposal of Christmas trees:
Christmas Tree Drop-off
Starting Friday, Dec. 26 - Sunday, Jan. 18
DSWM customers can drop off their clean, undecorated Christmas trees at a Neighborhood Trash and Recycling Center or a designated drop-off location at the South Dade Landfill located at 24000 SW 97 Avenue. All centers are open daily from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
Curbside Collection of Christmas Trees
The DSWM will provide curbside collection of trees for service area residents for one week only from Wednesday, Jan. 7 through Wednesday, Jan. 14. Trees free of tinsel, lights and other decorations should be placed at the curbside for collection.
Trees left at the curbside after Jan. 14 will not be removed. Residents will be responsible for delivering their tree to one of the DSWM's Trash and Recycling Centers or cutting the tree to fit inside their green EZGo waste cart for proper collection and disposal.

The clean trees collected at the recycling sites will be chipped in-house. Beginning in late January, the chips will be distributed to service area residents free-of-charge while supplies last at the following locations:
-
North Dade Trash and Recycling Center
21500 NW 47 Avenue
-
Sunset Kendall
8000 SW 107 Avenue
