Residents can also utilize their free bulky waste pickup service.  The Department will collect up to 25 cubic yards of household trash, yard waste and other bulky items twice per fiscal year (October 1 through September 30).   Before placing items at the curbside for collection, residents must schedule a pickup by calling 3-1-1, the County’s Answer Center, or by requesting a pickup online at www.miamidade.gov/dswm.

“We encourage residents to complete tree pruning and other cleanup activities before hurricane season begins,” said Kathleen Woods-Richardson, Director of the Department of Solid Waste Management.  “Residents that schedule a bulky waste collection when a hurricane threat is imminent may not receive this service prior to the storm,” added Woods-Richardson.
