Miami-Dade Department of Solid Waste Management Independence Day Holiday Service Schedule

July 3rd and 4th, 2009


(Miami-Dade County, FL) -- Customers of the Miami-Dade Department of Solid Waste Management should note the following schedule for the upcoming Independence Day holiday. 

Garbage Service

Miami-Dade County will observe Independence Day on Friday, July 3, 2009.  Curbside garbage and trash collection service will NOT take place on Friday, July 3, 2009.  Customers are reminded of the following:

· Tuesday/Friday customers should not place their waste at the curbside on Friday, July 3rd, 2009. 
· Please place your waste at the curb by 7 a.m. on your next regular garbage collection day, Tuesday,      
  July 7, 2009.<
· Because of the heavy volume of waste anticipated to be placed at the curb following the holiday, waste 
  may be collected later in the day than residents are accustomed to.  Please be patient.  All waste will be collected by our crews.

Curbside Recycling Service

· Curbside recycling WILL take place as scheduled on Friday, July 3rd for Friday “A” customers. 
  Please be sure to place your recycling cart curbside by 7 a.m.

Neighborhood Trash & Recycling Centers and Home Chemical Collection Centers

· The Department’s 13 Neighborhood Trash & Recycling Centers and Home Chemical Collection drop-off sites will observe normal hours of operation on Friday, July 3rd.  However, these facilities will be CLOSED on Saturday, July 4, 2009.
