The U.S. Census Bureau released the initial 2008 American Community Survey (ACS) 1-year data on Tuesday, September 22nd. The tables provided below are Miami-Dade countywide summaries of selected demographic, social characteristics and housing characteristics with comparisons to 2007 and 2004 data. The economic data for 2008 will be released next week.
The recently released data is for census designated places with more than 65,000 residents. Three-year summary data for places with populations of 20,000 or more will be released next month, and in the summer or early fall of 2010 the first 5-year summaries will be released with survey data down to the block group level. The 5-year ACS will provide demographic, social, economic and housing data for small geographic areas within the County.
Economic Profiles of Miami-Dade County Commission Districts
This report provides information on poverty, population and labor market indicators (such as unemployment), household income and its distribution, the location and characteristics of business establishments, and residential foreclosure activity by Commission Districts. The statistical profile reveals the diversity of socioeconomic conditions across the 13 Commission Districts.
