What e-Government means to us...
The notion of universal and equal communal participation and
access to resources is the central premise behind government in
general. This is even more true of eGovernment - or, the
extension of government services and public information to the
world of cyber interaction. Knowing that the Internet boosts
interpersonal communication and empowers citizens to make
informed decisions has made us confident that “e” belongs in
front of “Government,” for the sake of Democracy.
The creation of the
Miami-Dade County eGovernment department is a sure sign of the
realization that technology is created for people, and that our
web presence is no trivial matter.
We are already on
our way to bringing more convenience and empowerment through
online service! We are establishing an Applications Academy to
streamline County applications development and bring together
County Information Technology specialists with industry experts.
We invite you to browse through our

program (.pdf format) which would give interns extensive
experience by rotating them through various Information
Technology groups in the County. We are striving to employ
cutting-edge
Geographic
Information Systems technology, and we are focused on
delivering online services based on user-oriented content, an
intuitive feel, a slick look and fresh information. We feel
we're not just designing web sites or applications, we're
creating an experience. Welcome to our experience, and we hope

have a formal mission statement, but we pride ourselves in
keeping our priorities straight. Or, in the words of a famous
Rush song:
