Poll Worker Positions
CLERK (C):
- Reports to the precinct Monday night for set-up
- Responsible for assigning Inspector's positions
- Responsible for completing required paperwork before the polls open and after they close
- Reports to the Collection Center with supplies after the polls close
- Must complete the certification program
ASSISTANT CLERK (AC):
- Reports to the precinct Monday night for set-up
- Must be familiar with all Clerk procedures to assist the Clerk, or take over for the Clerk if needed
- Responsible for Ballot Replacements
- Must complete the certification program
INSPECTORS:
CHECK-IN INSPECTOR:

Asks voter for identification
- Verifies voter's address against precinct register
- Asks voter to sign the precinct register and writes voters ID number on Voter Authorization Slip (VAS)
- Sends the voter to the Ballot Table Inspector
BALLOT TABLE INSPECTOR:
- Takes voter's Voter Authorization Slip (VAS) and issues a ballot according to precinct and party affiliation
- Records the number of ballot pages the voter will receive
OPTICAL SCAN INSPECTOR:
- Assists voters if there is a problem with the optical scan voting equipment
IVOTRONIC INSPECTOR:
- Takes voter's Voter Authorization Slip (VAS) and activates a ballot according to precinct and party affiliation
