(Miami-Dade County, FL) -- Miami-Dade residents wishing to participate in the August 26 Primary Election have until July 28 to register. Citizens should keep in mind they must register with the Miami-Dade Elections Department to be eligible to vote.
"We are encouraging all eligible citizens to register to vote," said Supervisor of Elections Lester Sola. "Voting is the best and most impactful way to have a say in important issues that affect our community."
To be eligible to register to vote, residents must:

Be 18 years or older (pre-registration begins at 17 or when they receive a valid Florida Driver's License, whichever occurs first.);

Be an U.S. citizen;

Be a permanent resident of Miami-Dade County. There is no specific time requirement to live in Miami-Dade County to be considered a permanent resident.
Residents may register to vote at a number of locations including:

Miami-Dade County Public libraries;

Team Metro Offices;
-
Most city, town and village halls;

State public assistance agencies;

Florida Driver License Bureaus; and
-
Two Miami-Dade Elections Department Offices
