Voting for the August 26, 2008 Primary Election has begun! The Miami-Dade Elections Department has already mailed more than 80,000 absentee ballots. For those voters who wish to vote absentee, the deadline to submit a request is 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 20th and it’s never been easier. Voters can do so by mail or in person.
"Our hope is that every registered voter will exercise their right to vote. There is no reason not to, whether a voter is serving our country in Iraq, vacationing abroad, or simply prefers to vote from the comfort of his or her home," said Supervisor of Elections, Lester Sola, "Everyone has a convenient opportunity to vote."
