All Polling Places Open for Voting

Voters have until 7 p.m. to cast their ballots

(Miami-Dade County, FL) --
As of 7 a.m., all 764 Miami-Dade County precincts are open and ready for voters. Almost 7,500 poll workers are on hand today to help make sure voters cast their ballots easily and efficiently.

"All precincts are up and running," said Miami-Dade Elections Supervisor Lester Sola. "We encourage all voters who didn’t take advantage of the early voting period to go to their precinct today and their vote count."

Voters who plan to vote in person today should keep in mind these points:

  • Unlike during Early Voting, when voters can choose any location, on Election Day voters must vote at their assigned polling place listed on their voter information cards. Any voter who is unsure of where to vote can check the Elections Department website or call 3-1-1.
  • Voting at polling places continues until 7 p.m. today. In the event of lines at polling places, any eligible voter who is in line at 7 p.m. will be allowed to vote.
  • Voters must provide identification that contains both a photo and signature in order to vote. Acceptable forms of ID include driver’s license, ID card issued by a Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles, United States passport, military or student ID card, and retirement center or neighborhood association ID card. If the picture identification does not contain a signature, an additional identification with a signature will be required. Any person who does not have acceptable ID will be asked to vote a provisional ballot.
  • Voters should be sure to review both sides of the ballot.

The Elections Department ensures all voters the ability to cast a ballot. Electronic equipment, or iVotronics, used in previous elections will still be on-site at precincts for use by people with disabilities.
