(Miami-Dade County, FL) -- Miami-Dade Elections continued serving voters today on the fourth day of early voting. While the numbers of early voters grew, from 12,024, 13,364 to 16,900 respectively, wait times decreased due to added measures taken by the Elections Department.
For shorter, more comfortable wait times, the Elections Department deployed additional voter check in equipment to busy early voting sites, began offering wait time information through 3-1-1 and on www.miamidade.gov/elections and increased line management staff. Line staffers distributed sample ballots, fans and water and offered seating to the elderly, people with disabilities and expectant mothers in an effort to make everyone as comfortable as possible.
Early voters are reminded to call 3-1-1 or go to www.miamidade.gov/elections for wait times, which are posted throughout the day.
The Elections Department is doing everything possible to accommodate all voters. Voters are encouraged to review the sample ballot and make their decisions before heading to the polls and reminded to bring identification that contains both a photo and a signature. Sample ballots are available on the Elections web site www.miamidade.gov/elections.
Everyone in line by the time polls close is guaranteed the opportunity to vote. For additional information please visit Miami-Dade Election Ready website at www.miamidade.gov/elections or call 3-1-1.
