Miami-Dade Elections prepares for November 3 Election, puts voting equipment to the test
(Miami-Dade County, FL) -- The Miami-Dade County Elections Department will be conducting a thorough examination of its voting equipment in preparation for the November 3 municipal elections. Approximately one-third of Miami-Dade County’s registered voters are eligible to vote on November 3rd, those in the cities of Hialeah, Homestead, Miami and Miami Beach.
"As with every election, we put our voting equipment through rigorous testing, replicating real-life election conditions," said Supervisor of Elections Lester Sola. "This is just one of the many extensive efforts we make to ensure the reliability of our equipment."
Members of the media are invited to view this "Logic and Accuracy Test." Ballots will be cast according to a predetermined outcome, and then tabulated and reconciled to ensure votes were captured accurately. Each step of the process, from opening the equipment to transmitting and tabulating results, will be recreated and analyzed.
