All polling places open for voting

Voters have until 7 p.m. to cast their ballot

(Miami-Dade County, FL) --

As of 7 a.m., all 829 Miami
-Dade County precincts have opened and are welcoming voters. After much pre-election preparation and testing, the Elections Department expects a successful Election Day.

39,691 voters have already cast a ballot during the Early Voting period, which ended Saturday and more than 79,000 have already voted via absentee ballot. Absentee ballots will continue to be accepted via mail and in person until 7 p.m. today at the Elections Department, 2700 NW 87th Avenue in Doral, and at the Voter Information Center in the Stephen P. Clark Center, 111 NW 1st Street in downtown Miami.

Voting at polling places continues until 7 p.m. today. Voters who plan to vote in person today should keep in mind these points:

  • Unlike during Early Voting, on Election Day voters must vote at their assigned polling place listed on their voter information card. Any voter who is unsure of where to vote should visit the Elections Department’s website or call 3-1-1.

  • Voters must provide identification that contains both a photo and signature in order to vote. Acceptable forms of ID include driver’s license (or ID card issued by a Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles), United States passport, employee badge, military or student ID card, buyer’s club ID card, and retirement center or neighborhood association ID card. If the picture identification does not contain a signature, an additional identification with a signature will be required.

  • Any person who is not deemed eligible to vote by polling place personnel, may always vote a provisional ballot, which will be considered by the Miami-Dade County Canvassing Board.

Media interested in obtaining election footage throughout Election Day are encouraged to visit the following media-friendly precincts, given the facility layout and visual accessibility for observers:
