(Miami-Dade County, FL) -- Due to the volume of absentee ballots received by the Elections Department on Election Day, and the extensive review of each ballot, ballots are still in the process of being tabulated.
With the unprecedented length of the ballot in Miami-Dade County, this represents over 100,000 pages that need to be reviewed and verified, one by one. This in no way is representative of any issues or delays, but a matter of unprecedented volume.
Elections staff worked through the night to verify signatures, and open and tabulate results. The Miami-Dade County Canvassing Board composed of Chairperson Judge Shelley Kravitz; Judge Andrew Hague; and the Supervisor of Elections Penelope Townsley also continued to review presumed invalid absentee ballots throughout the night and continue to do so. There was continuity throughout night.
The media will be provided updates as we progress.
