The voter registration deadline for the November 5, 2013 Miami-Dade County Special Election is Monday, October 7


(MIAMI, October 4, 2013) – Voting is the most impactful way to have a say in important issues that affect our community. The Miami-Dade County Special Election scheduled for November 5, 2013 is an opportunity for Miami-Dade voters to cast their ballot regarding funding for the modernization and improvement of the Jackson Health System through issuance of General Obligation Bonds.  In addition, voters residing in the cities of Hialeah, Homestead, Miami, and Miami Beach will have the opportunity to vote on municipal races and questions.

“In order to participate in this election, you must be a registered voter by October 7th, a deadline that is quickly approaching,” stated Penelope Townsley, Miami-Dade County Supervisor of Elections. “One of our most important missions is to encourage all eligible residents to register and to take advantage of their right to vote.”

With the deadline just three days away, the most convenient option for those interested in registering to vote is to visit the Elections Department website and click on “Register to Vote.” After completing the online form, it must be printed, signed, and mailed to the Miami-Dade County Elections Department at:

If sent by mail, this form must be postmarked by Monday, October 7, 2013 to be accepted as valid for this election. 

Another option is to hand deliver the completed application to one of the Elections Department offices, open Monday through Friday, from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm:

If hand-delivered, the Department must receive the completed form by 5:00 pm on Monday, October 7, 2013 to be accepted as valid for this election.
