Today is the voter registration deadline for the November 5, 2013 Miami-Dade County Special Election
(MIAMI, October 7, 2013) – Voting is the most impactful way to have a say in important issues that affect our community. The Miami-Dade County Special Election scheduled for November 5, 2013 is an opportunity for Miami-Dade voters to cast their ballot regarding funding for the modernization and improvement of the Jackson Health System through issuance of General Obligation Bonds. In addition, voters residing in the cities of Hialeah, Homestead, Miami, and Miami Beach will have the opportunity to vote on municipal races and questions.
“In order to participate in this election, you must be a registered voter. Today is the deadline, and I encourage all eligible residents to register and to take advantage of their right to vote,” stated Penelope Townsley, Miami-Dade County Supervisor of Elections.
To register to vote, residents must:
- be 18 years or older;
- be a U.S. citizen;
- be a permanent resident of Miami-Dade County. There is no specific time requirement to live in Miami-Dade County to be considered a permanent resident.

If hand-delivered, the Department must receive the completed form by 5:00 pm today to be accepted as valid for this election.
