Absentee ballots for the November 5, 2013 elections will be mailed tomorrow, October 15
More than 189,000 ballots will be mailed
(MIAMI, October 14, 2013) – The Tuesday, November 5, 2013 Miami-Dade County Special Election is an opportunity for Miami-Dade voters to cast their ballot regarding funding for the modernization and improvement of the Jackson Health System through issuance of General Obligation Bonds. In addition, voters residing in the cities of Hialeah, Homestead, Miami, and Miami Beach will have the opportunity to vote on their municipal races and questions.
The Miami-Dade Elections Department wants all voters to participate in this important election as voting is the most impactful way to have a say in important issues that affect our community. As such, voters are reminded there are three ways to vote: by absentee, early voting, and on Election Day, Tuesday, November 5, 2013 at their assigned precinct.
More than 189,000 absentee ballots will be mailed tomorrow, Tuesday, October 15, 2013 to those voters who have an absentee ballot request on file with the Department. Voters can expect to receive their ballot on Wednesday, October 16 or Thursday, October 17 of this week.
Other voters who wish to participate in this election via absentee ballot have until 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 30, 2013 to submit their request online, by email, or by telephone. Absentee ballots may be returned by mail or in person to:
IMPORTANT REMINDERS TO ABSENTEE VOTERS
- Completed absentee ballots must be received by Tuesday, November 5, 2013 at 7:00 p.m. to be accepted as valid.
- Ensure that you sign inside the red box on the outside of the absentee ballot envelope.
- Do not give your ballot to anyone who has not been properly authorized per section 12-14 of the Code of Miami-Dade County.
- Postage is no longer necessary.
