November 5, 2013 Special Election

Tomorrow is the last day to request an Absentee Ballot, Early Voting runs through Sunday


(MIAMI, October 29, 2013) – The Miami-Dade County Special Election scheduled for November 5, 2013 is an opportunity for Miami-Dade voters to cast their ballot regarding funding for the modernization and improvement of the Jackson Health System through issuance of General Obligation Bonds.  In addition, voters residing in the cities of Hialeah, Homestead, Miami, and Miami Beach will vote on municipal races and questions.  Voters can view their customized sample ballot on the Elections Department website to prepare in advance of voting.

Voters are reminded there are three convenient ways to exercise their right to vote: by Absentee Ballot, Early Voting, or on Election Day.

Absentee Voting

More than 56,000 have already participated in this election by voting by absentee ballot.  Voters who wish to participate in this election via Absentee Ballot must submit their request no later than 5:00 pm tomorrow, October 30, 2013.  Any registered voter may request an Absentee Ballot by telephone (305-499-8444), online, email, or fax (305-499-8401). Completed Absentee Ballots may be returned by mail or in person to:

Important Reminders to Absentee Voters:

Early Voting

Over 7,800 voters have already taken advantage of Early Voting.  Voters who wish to participate in this election via Early Voting have until Sunday, November 3, 2013 to cast their ballot at one of the 20 Early Voting locations conveniently located throughout Miami-Dade County.  The schedule, locations, and wait times may be found online

Election Day

Voters who wish to participate in this election on Election Day must go to their assigned precinct.
