All Miami-Dade County polling places open for voting
Voters have until 7:00 p.m. to cast their ballots
As of 7:00 a.m., all 829 Miami-Dade County precincts are open and welcoming voters. After much pre-election preparation and testing, the Elections Department expects a successful Election Day. As always, administrators are on hand in the field and at the Election Central phone bank to address questions that may arise.
Over 94,000 voters have already cast ballots during Early Voting and via Absentee Ballot, which represents a 7.4 percent voter turnout so far. Voters who plan to vote in person today should keep in mind these points:
- Voters must vote at their assigned polling place listed on their voter information card. Any voter who is unsure of where to vote should go to the Elections Department website or call 3-1-1.
- Voters must provide identification that contains both a photo and signature in order to vote. Acceptable forms of ID include Florida driver’s license (or ID card issued by a Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles), United States passport, debit or credit card, military identification, student identification, retirement center identification, public assistance identification, or neighborhood association identification. If the picture identification does not contain a signature, an additional identification with a signature will be required. While the Voter Information Card is not required to vote, it can help expedite the check-in process, so bringing it is always encouraged.
- Voting at polling places continues until 7:00 p.m. today. In the event of lines at polling places, any eligible voter who is in line at 7:00 p.m. will be allowed to vote.
- Voters are encouraged to prepare in advance of heading to the polls by reviewing their customized sample ballot, which can be found on the Elections Department website.
Those voters who requested an Absentee Ballot and have not yet returned it to our office are encouraged to deliver them in person no later than 7:00 p.m. to one of our locations:
- Elections Department Headquarters (2700 NW 87th Avenue, Miami, Florida 33172)
- Satellite Office at the Stephen P. Clark Center (111 NW 1st Street, Miami, Florida 33128)
As a reminder, State law requires the voter to sign the voter certificate on the outside of their absentee ballot envelope. Remember to sign INSIDE the red box on the back of the envelope. It is important that the signature on the voter certificate matches the signature we have on record.
