Today is the voter registration deadline for the Primary Election


(MIAMI, July 28, 2014) – The act of voting is a defining moment, one that allows your voice to be heard on the Federal, State and Local level. The Primary Election will be held on August 26, 2014. You must register to vote today, in order to participate in this important election.

In order to register, you must: 

Please also note that Florida is a closed primary state. This means that only voters who are registered members of a political party may vote for their respective party’s candidate. The August 26th Primary Election ballot is not confined to party-specific races, there are nonpartisan races applicable to all registered voters, regardless of party affiliation. Anyone interested in changing their party affiliation for this election must do so by today.

“All Miami-Dade County registered voters are encouraged to vote in this election,” said Supervisor of Elections Penelope Townsley.

At this point, those interested in registering to vote or make a political party change have two options:
