(MIAMI, July 29, 2014) – The Miami-Dade County Elections Department mailed absentee ballots to more than 187,000 voters this morning for the August 26, 2014, Primary Election. Voters with a standing request on file should expect their absentee ballot in their mailboxes over the next few days.

“Absentee voting becomes more popular with each election and continues to be a secure voting method for our voters. It has never been easier or more convenient to vote absentee from the comfort of your home,” said Supervisor of Elections Penelope Townsley.

Voters are reminded the following:

Any voter interested in voting by absentee ballot, who has not yet submitted a request can do so in several ways – by phone at (305) 499-VOTE (8683), online via the Elections Department website, in writing or in person. The deadline is Wednesday, August 20, 2014, by 5:00 p.m.
