Today is the voter registration deadline for the General Election
(Miami, October 6, 2014) – The act of voting is a defining moment, one that allows your voice to be heard on the Federal, State and Local level. That said, the General Election will be held on November 4, 2014. In order to participate in this important election, you must be a registered voter by today. the State of Florida's book closing deadline.
To register to vote, residents must be:
- 18 years or older (pre-registration begins at 16);
- a U.S. citizen;
- a permanent resident of Miami-Dade County. There is no specific time requirement to live in Miami-Dade County to be considered a permanent resident.
“Registering to vote is the first step to ‘Be Election Ready’ and have a voice in important issues affecting you and your community,” said Supervisor of Elections Penelope Townsley.
At this point, those interested in registering to vote for the upcoming General Election have two options:
- Visit the Elections Department website http://www.iamelectionready.org/ and click on Voter Registration. After completing the online form, it must be printed, signed, and mailed to the Elections Department at:

This form MUST be postmarked by October 6 to be accepted as valid for this election.
- Another option is to hand-deliver the application to our office. The Elections Department office in Doral will remain open until midnight tonight to afford every possible opportunity to the residents of Miami-Dade County.

(Stephen P. Clark Center, 111 NW 1 Street) - Public libraries

- Florida Driver License Bureaus
