Miami-Dade voters are encouraged to be "Election Ready" by viewing their sample ballot

(MIAMI, October 10, 2014) – With the November 4, 2014, General Election underway, voters are encouraged to become familiarized with their specific ballot content before casting their vote.

The upcoming election consists of candidate races at all levels of government.   All Miami-Dade voters can expect a two-page ballot (front/back), inclusive of three proposed constitutional amendments and five county questions.  In addition, 18 municipalities have ballot content in this election.  Miami-Dade County is Election Ready, and voters can be Election Ready as well.

The Official Sample Ballot will be distributed as an insert in The Miami Herald and El Nuevo Herald this Sunday, October 12.  Copies are now available at public libraries, County and Commission offices, and city halls.

Voters who signed up to receive their customized sample ballot via email will receive it today.  To sign up, call 305-499-VOTE (8683) and opt in to receive the customized sample ballot eblasts prior to each election.

Moreover, registered voters can quickly access their Customized Sample Ballot now online at http://www.miamidade.gov/elections/voter-information.asp in three simple steps:

By entering minimal voter information, voters can quickly view the ballot content they are eligible to vote in.  This gives voters the opportunity to make their decisions prior to voting, thereby expediting their voting experience.

“I encourage registered voters to prepare ahead and be Election Ready. Whether they vote Early, by Absentee or on Election Day, it will be a faster and more efficient process if our voters take the opportunity to review their sample ballot ahead of time,” said Supervisor of Elections Penelope Townsley. “I would even suggest printing the sample ballot and having it handy while they vote.”

This tool also allows voters to review the registration information on file, confirm their Election Day voting location, track their absentee ballot, and much more.  For more information, please visit http://www.iamelectionready.org/ or follow us on Twitter @mdcelections. To speak to a representative, please call 3-1-1 or 305-499-VOTE (8683).  For TTY, call 305-499-8480.
