Miami-Dade Elections Department puts voting equipment to the test for the November 4, 2014 General Election

Voting equipment test

(MIAMI, October 15, 2014) – The Miami-Dade County Elections Department conducted a comprehensive examination of its voting equipment for the upcoming November 4, 2014, General Election today.

As is customary prior to every election, the Department conducted the “Logic and Accuracy Test” at the Elections Department Headquarters to thoroughly test voting equipment before use.  Each step of the voting and tabulation process was tested. Ballots were cast according to a predetermined outcome, and then tabulated and reconciled to ensure the votes were accurately captured.

“This is just one of many standard procedures that the Elections Department performs during the preparation of an election to ensure that voting equipment is ready for use. This examination was a success and the equipment can now be deployed to Early Voting and Election Day Voting locations,” said Supervisor of Elections Penelope Townsley.
