Homeless Helpline

The Miami-Dade County Homeless Trust operates a toll-free Homeless Helpline to provide one easy point of access to obtain assistance for persons who are homeless or at risk of homelessness. Individuals calling the Homeless Helpline are assessed and referred to appropriate services - either homeless assistance or homeless prevention. Homeless Offenders

The Homeless Assessment, Referral and Tracking Program (HART) provides assessment and placement to court supervised homeless individuals. The bondable homeless offenders are released and placed by HART in a treatment housing facilities. The HART staff represents the clients in court and ensures their appearance to all hearings by offering intensive tracking services. Services are accessed through the courts. New Direction Residential Treatment

Direct services are provided to adults having problems with substance abuse addiction, co-occurring disorders (combined physiatric and substance abuse problems), homelessness and high-risk behavior for potential criminality. This is a 24/7 residential program, and length of stay is from 60 - 120 days.

Refugee Assistance

A prevention and intervention program for newly arrived refugee youth and families. Services include: psychosocial assessment, individual, marital, family and group therapy; youth counseling at targeted schools; parenting groups; mentorship experiences; recreational and cultural activities; parent and student advocacy; case management; tutorial therapeutic after-school services; therapeutic summer camp, and referrals.

Victim Services

Immediate services to victims of domestic crimes, elder abuse, child abuse and missing persons. Volunteer Chaplain Services

A Volunteer Chaplain is a person who donates his/her time counseling or providing faith based programs for inmates in MDCR custody. A faith based volunteer Chaplain provides ministerial support to MDCR Chaplains. They assist MDCR Chaplains with managing other faith based volunteers and helping with the coordination of faith based services for inmates and staff at each facility. Corrections and Rehabilitation
