Jaboticaba Tree (Myrciaria cauliflora)

JaboticabaDescription: An Evergreen that is very slow growing. Small, bushy tree from Brazil. The grape-like fruit grows on the trunks and the pulp can be eaten fresh or cooked.

Size: Small

Location: Plant at least 30 feet from power lines and 16-22 feet from your house. Needs full sun.

Salt tolerance: Low

Watering: Water during planting and for one year thereafter. Usually doesn't need additional watering after one year.

Fertilization: Do not fertilize until 6 months after planting. Call 305-248-3311 ext. 228 for fertilizing information specific to your tree.

Pruning: Best not to prune as fruit occurs on the trunks. If staked, remove after months.
